Fall 2026 Recreational Soccer Programs

Registration for Fall 2026 Soccer Is Open

Trainers for all 3rd - 12th grade recreational traveling teams: The Club provides professional trainers from United Soccer Academy to lead practice sessions each week, along with trainer appearances at several league games.


Professional trainers from USA Soccer also lead program sessions in all Pre-K through 2nd grade age groups with the help of parent coaches. Players will learn new skills and tactics each week and put them to use in multiple scrimmages each session.


Registration Pricing - Fall 2026

  • Early registration pricing for all GRU fall programs EXCEPT Parent & Player is $275 through June 15, 2026. 
  • Early registration pricing for Parent & Player is $225 through June 15, 2026.
  • Regular registration pricing for all GRU fall programs EXCEPT Parent & Player is $325 and starts on June 16, 2026.
  • Regular registration pricing for Parent & Player is $275 and starts June 15, 2026.

All registration fees include weekly professional training with United Soccer Academy, GRU jersey, soccer ball, and socks.

Clinic Programs (Ages 2 through 2nd Grade)

-- Children aged 2-3 years participate in our Parent & Player Program and learn basic soccer skills like chasing, running, kicking and listening.

-- Children aged 3-5 (Pre-K) focus on developing their soccer abilities through fun weekly activities, games, and scrimmages. 

-- Players in Kindergarten through 2nd grade spend the first half of each session continuing to develop soccer skills and tactics, with the second half of each session devoted to games against other teams in the session.

-- Players may "play up" or "play down" in their age group so they can participate with with their classmates. In certain instances, we may ask for additional information about the player to determine appropriate program placement.

-- All sessions are led by professional trainers from United Soccer Academy with assistance from parent coaches/team managers.


Equipment

-- Every player receives a GRU team jersey, soccer ball, socks, and end-of-season participation medal.

-- All players must wear shin guards. Exception: Shin guards are optional in the Parent & Player program.

-- Players must provide black shorts.

-- Soccer cleats are optional but recommended. The turf will be wet after rain, morning dew, and melting frost. Cleats help prevent players from slipping.

All sessions will be held on the Lower Faber artificial turf field:

-- Parent & Player (2-3 yr olds) Session 1: Saturdays 9:15am-9:50am

-- Parent & Player (2-3 yr olds) Session 2: Saturdays 10:00am-10:35am

-- Parent & Player (2-3 yr olds) Session 3: Saturdays 10:45am-11:20am

-- Pre-K (3-5 yr olds) Session 1: Saturdays 9:00am-10:00am

-- Pre-K (3-5 yr olds) Session 2: Saturdays 10:00am-11:00am

-- Pre-K (3-5 yr olds) Session 3: Sundays 2:15-3:15pm

-- Pre-K (3-5 yr olds) Session 4: Sundays 3:15-4:15pm

-- Kindergarten Session 1: Saturdays 11:00am-12:00noon

-- Kindergarten Session 2: Saturdays 12:00noon-1:00pm

-- 1st Grade Boys (Division 7 Boys): Sundays 1:30-3pm

-- 1st Grade Girls (Division 7 Girls): Saturdays 1-2:30pm

-- 2nd Grade Boys (Division 6 Boys): Sundays 3-4:30pm

-- 2nd Grade Girls (Division 6 Girls): Saturdays 1-2:30pm


Pre-Travel Academy - Kindergarten and 1st Grade

Season Start Date 

All Fall 2026 Parent & Player, Pre-K, 1st grade and 2nd grade programs are scheduled to start the weekend of September 12-13, 2026.


Season End Dates

-- The Parent & Player and Pre-K programs run 8 weeks and end Saturday, October 31st or Sunday, November 1st, 2026. However, the programs may end November 7th or 8th due to the Halloween Parade or session cancellations due to the weather.

-- The Kindergarten, Division 7 (1st Grade) and Division 6 (2nd Grade) programs run ten weeks and are scheduled to end the weekend of November 14-15, 2026. 


NOTE: Season end dates may be extended an additional week if there are session cancellations due to weather earlier in the season.

PRE-TRAVEL ACADEMY PROGRAM for all Kindergarten and 1st Grade Players

 

Glen Rock United is excited to launch the reimagined Pre-Travel Academy, a supplemental soccer program designed for enthusiastic Kindergarten and 1st grade players who are ready for more soccer and development beyond the weekend clinic.


No tryouts are required—this program is open to any player who is also enrolled in one of the Kindergarten or 1st grade weekend clinics. If your child loves soccer and is eager to play more, the Pre-Travel Academy is a great next step!


The program includes:

– One additional one-hour training session each week, led by our experienced training staff

– Participation in two or three soccer festivals, giving players the opportunity to experience real games in a fun, age-appropriate setting

– Pre-Travel Academy jersey


The Pre-Travel Academy is the perfect next step for young players who are enthusiastic about soccer and want to start building the skills, confidence, and teamwork habits that lead into the travel program.

Recreational Traveling Teams (Grades 3 - 12)

-- Children in grades 3 - 12 join recreational travel teams and play games against other towns in northwest Bergen County while continuing to develop skills and tactics. 


-- There are no tryouts required to participate on a GRU recreational travel team and all players are guaranteed to play at least half of every game. 

-- Players may "play up" into the next age division, but cannot "play down" if they have aged out of a division. 

-- All teams have a midweek practice and weekend game.

-- Midweek practice sessions for 3rd - 12th grade traveling teams will be run by professional trainers from United Soccer Academy. Trainers will also attend at least three weekend games for all teams.

 

Equipment

-- Every player receives a GRU recreational travel team jersey and socks. Coaches are supplied a team equipment bag including soccer balls, cones and first aid kit. Players keep a team soccer ball at the end of the season.

Practices 

All practices are run by professional trainers. Teams have one practice each week and each session is 90 minutes. Practice day and time will depend on the individual team. Practice sessions start the week of September 7, 2026 and run though the week of November 16, 2026.


-- Division 5 (3rd/4th Grade) Boys: Announced in early August. 

-- Division 5 (3rd/4th Grade) Girls: Announced in early August.

-- Division 4 (5th/6th Grade) Boys: Announced in early August. 

-- Division 4 (5th/6th Grade) Girls: Announced in early August.

-- Division 3 (7th/8th Grade) Boys: Announced in early August.

-- Division 3 (7th/8th Grade) Girls: Announced in early August.

-- Division 2 (9th - 12th Grades) Co-Ed: Announced in early August.


Games

League play in the Northwest Bergen Soccer Association (NWBSA) for the Fall 2026 season begins either September 12, 2026 (girls' teams) or September 13, 2026 (co-ed high school teams and boys' teams). Games are played on Saturday mornings (girls) or Sunday afternoons (high school and boys) according to the following schedule:


-- Division 5 (3rd/4th Grade) Boys: Sundays, 1pm or 3pm

-- Division 5 (3rd/4th Grade) Girls: Saturdays, 9am or 11am

-- Division 4 (5th/6th Grade) Boys: Sundays, 1pm or 3pm

-- Division 4 (5th/6th Grade) Girls: Saturdays, 9am or 11am

-- Division 3 (7th/8th Grade) Boys: Sundays, 1pm or 3pm

-- Division 3 (7th/8th Grade) Girls: Saturdays, 9am or 11am

-- Division 2 (9th - 12th Grades) Co-Ed: Sundays, 1pm or 3pm


Game schedules, dates and field locations for all traveling teams are located on the Northwest Bergen Soccer Association (NWBSA) website: www.nwbsa.org.


Season End Dates

The season runs 11 weeks and finishes the weekend of November 21-22, 2026. Certain weekends will not have games scheduled.

Age Group Birth Year Information: 2026-2027 Recreational Soccer Programs

In Glen Rock United and Northwest Bergen Soccer Association (NWBSA), division of play is determined by date of birth, which runs from August 1st through July 31st of the following year. 


For the 2026-2027 seasonal year, the age group birth dates are:

  • Division 2 Co-Ed (9th-12th Grade) - 1/1/08 to 9/30/12 or 9th grade in fall 2026
  • Division 3 (7th/8th Grade) - 8/1/12 to 9/30/14 or 7th grade in fall 2026
  • Division 4 (5th/6th Grade) - 8/1/14 to 9/30/16 or 5th grade in fall 2026
  • Division 5 (3rd/4th Grade) - 8/1/16 to 9/30/19 or 3rd grade in fall 2026
  • Division 6 (2nd Grade) - 8/1/18 to 9/30/19 or 2nd grade in fall 2026
  • Division 7 (1st Grade) - 8/1/19 to 9/30/20 or 1st grade in fall 2026
  • Kindergarten Clinic - 8/1/20 to 9/30/21 or Kindergarten in fall 2026
  • Pre-K Clinic (ages 3-5) - 8/1/21 to 9/30/23 (fall season) or 2/28/24 (spring 2027 season)
  • Parent and Player (ages 2-3) - 10/1/23 to 9/30/24 or 2/28/25(spring 2027 season).


All players may "play up" into the next age division and to play with their grade, but recreational travel team players cannot "play down" if they have aged out of a division. However, players in the Pre-K through 2nd grade programs are able to "play up" or "play down" to participate with their classmates.

The Club also needs your help as a Coach, Assistant Coach, or Team Manager! Be a part of a rewarding, fun experience with your children. Volunteer with a friend!

Refund Policy

Glen Rock United will refund registration fees for any withdrawals up to and including 

July 15, 2026. 

Starting July 16, 2026, no refunds or credits will be given.


A service charge of $25 will be deducted to cover the processing of all refunds and credits.
